Guidance
Thirteen of us, that magical number, showed up for the most recent Open Circle at ISA. We began with a guided meditation during which I was drawn to a brilliant amber-coloured energy. While immersed in this vibrant hue for a prolonged time, I eventually recognized it was a sign encouraging me to explore gemstones of this colour. The previous week, I had met a woman at a local metaphysical store and we had engaged in a short conversation about my book. Then, just as she was leaving, she turned to say there was a crystal I should be wearing, but she had no idea which one. Now, armed with the knowledge from this mediation, amber seems an obvious choice. I have been steered in this direction before, but not worn any for quite some time. I look forward to pulling out the few pieces I have, and refreshing my knowledge about its energetic properties. As with most of my guided meditations, I received insight into an aspect of my life, along with recommended action I could take. Guidance that is always appreciated.

Thirteen Months
Thirteen months today. Spending this morning working on the 2nd Annual Mike Gibson Golf Tournament to be held in early June. Then heading over to Boal Memorial to pay my respects. His dad golfing with friends on this beautiful sunny day. Wearing a sweater that belonged his son. Finding a measure of comfort in that.

Curious Observation
Over lunch at a busy restaurant with my husband Saturday afternoon. Reminiscing about our son. Wishing I could ask him something only he would know the answer to. Half-jokingly suggesting aloud that he, "Knock once for yes, twice for no." Knowing it was too noisy to actually hear a reply. This morning, my husband offering a curious observation. Remarking that the numbered ticket he had received for our dinner pickup that same day was number 13. Then Sunday, his rental agreement contract, number 13. Within twenty-four hours, the only two activities we had engaged in concerning numbered paper receipts. Both referencing Michael's favourite number.

One Full Season
Three months ago today. A quarter of a year. One full season has now passed. Connecting numbers and dates to whatever significance they may have in my life, some of great importance, others quite obscure. This is what I do. Remembering childhood friend's birthdays forty years later, recalling anniversaries of various life events, acknowledging my children's half birthdays. It is one way to connect to all those people and experiences that help shape who I am. Michael's first choice for jersey number for all those team sports he played was always number 13. Just saying.
