Flowers Flowers Everywhere

Oh my, what a day it was.  Heavy rains falling all morning.  The first time my autistic companion and I would be forgoing our walk. Suddenly, an unexpected break in the weather.  Heading out in our rubber boots.  Mine bursting with colourful hearts.  Perfect for navigating the water logged trail and its plentiful mud puddles. Halfway into our creek side stroll, noticing a small shiny object lying in the dirt. The size of a penny.  Silver in colour.  Dismissing it as a piece of trash. Carrying on.  Then stopping.  Backtracking.  Picking it up and turning it over.  Holding a clear resin flower shaped embellishment in my hand. In pristine condition.  Five multifaceted petals with silver backing.  Not valuable in the traditional sense.  However, priceless to me.  Instantly recognizing this as a sign from my late mother.  Laughing out loud. January 4th, her birthday.  A task that had already been planned for later that afternoon?  Purchasing a bouquet to tie to her memorial bench in the Village.  More than a token gesture.  As an avid gardener, flowers had been a great passion of hers.  Evening came.  Off to Open Circle with guided meditation at the ISA.  The facilitator describing a grassy meadow to explore.  Mine filled with red poppies instead.  Trying hard to find the grass.  The poppies stubbornly remaining.  Continuing along a path.  Hearing the message whispered by the trees, "You are doing it". Reassuring me that I was on the right track.  Arriving at a bench and resting there.  Soon feeling my mother hug me from behind.  Pink and gold energy surrounding us.  Just as described in a previous ISA encounter.  Then clearly hearing my mother utter three words. "Forget me not."  Initially confused.  Of course not, she was my mother.  Then, the aha moment.  At her service ten years ago, I had arranged for two kinds of seed packages to be available for guests to take home.  Plant in her memory.  Poppies was one, forget-me-nots, the other.  Yesterday, a colourful day filled with flowery signs from spirit.  Not consciously asked for.  Yet offered up in abundance for me to recognize and treasure. With love, beauty, and uplifting energy.  Dankeschön Mama.

Shakti Energy

Shakti.  Sanskrit word meaning feminine divine force.  Creative power. Invoking this energy as needed.  Walking in the forest or seated cross legged with palms up.  Experiencing it recently in a guided meditation. My mother and both grandmothers showing up.  All three positioned directly behind me.  Fortifying me with the maternal energy they embodied.  Supporting me in this journey.  Feeling deeply reassured by their presence.  As mothers, they experienced numerous challenges.  Choosing this incarnation myself.  Fulfilling my deepest desire.  To be a mother.  Thankful for all it encompasses.

Star and Starfish

A few days ago,  I experienced another magnificent guided mediation. As I followed his voice, the facilitator led me to a tranquil ocean beach, whereupon he suggested I put down a blanket, explore the surroundings, then return to the blanket where I would find a gift that had been left just for me.  In the silence that followed, I waded into the ocean and began swimming with the sea turtles that were close by.  I was so pleased to notice that no snorkel or mask was needed since I was underwater in spirit form and could therefore swim unencumbered.  I was in awe as the turtles allowed me to come close enough to stroke their large shells and feel their quiet strength.  Leaving the water to stroll back, I was reminded of how much Michael had loved these reptiles - in addition to having them as pets, he had collected glass, ceramic and plastic turtles as well.  When I arrived back at my rose coloured cotton blanket, lying there was a small silver star shaped pendant on a delicate chain.  A short distance away I saw another little pendant, the same shape as the first one with the addition of tiny raised bumps on it.  It was a starfish.  As I looked from one to the other,  the phrase, "As above, so below" came to me.  Then a long elastic band configured into a vertical infinity symbol appeared and as I stepped into it's path, I was able to travel up and down it with great ease.  It was with great reluctance that I left that serene place as the facilitator's voice gently prompted me to fully return to the room.  I was left with a very peaceful feeling and powerful reminder.  The stars may appear to be up in the heavens and the starfish down under the water but they are very closely connected, and to move between one and the other is not difficult at all.

Time to Rest

A few days ago, I experienced a guided meditation wherein the facilitator described a scene with sun shining through the trees, as I meandered along the path beside a creek in the forest. His words left me sitting on a small rock by the water's edge where I continued with the rest of my experience.  My first thought was that I desired a much larger rock, so it instantly transformed into a boulder.  When I realized that it wasn't very comfortable to sit on, a very thick layer of moss appeared on top.  Feeling the urge now to lie down, I curled up in a fetal position on that inviting moss bed.  As I lay there, I noticed a deer quietly observing me and heard children's laughter coming from downstream.  While I was resting in the warmth of the filtered sunshine, a thin blue blanket appeared, covering my body from the neck down.  A motherly energy began stroking me gently along the back of my head and down my back.  All I could think of was how comforting this felt, and how deeply tired I was.  I was told that I could sleep there for as long as I needed to, and that there would be no nightfall nor temperature change for the equivalent of three to four days.  It was interesting to observe that time was being described in the way we measure it in human form, since it doesn't exist that way in spirit. We were then called back from our meditation and I was so thankful for this nourishing reminder to take as long as I need in order to restore my energy.
