MGMG 2014

Plans are well underway for next month's 4th Annual Mike Gibson Memorial Golf (MGMG) tournament and it's shaping up to be another great weekend of festivities up at the cabin. Attracting new attendees, including a few rookie beginners ready to try their hand at golf. Receiving offers of donations for the fundraising aspect. Support for this event is strong as ever from friends, family, and acquaintances. Young and old committed to having fun, raising money for Canuck Place Children's Hospice, and most importantly, staying connected by spending this time with each other. We are so fortunate.

Feeding the Soul

Wow, what an over-the-top week this is turning out to be.  Numerous exciting experiences, only one of which was on my radar last week.  Took in the local Modern Home Tour on the weekend, which showcased creative examples of architecture and gardens, fueling my imagination.  Won tickets to attend the upcoming Pink Martini outdoor concert at an Okanagan winery, bound to be spectacular.  Invited to an event on Grouse Mountain this evening, complete with jazz and appies. Heading out with the trailer and bikes to Whistler for a weekend of outdoor adventures.  All of this occurring whilst the days are flooded with sunshine.  Does a week like this ensure that the heart does not ache, that the tears do not fall, that the deep sadness of missing my son stays at bay?  Of course not.  However, I am fortunate to have such lively and uplifting opportunities to feed my soul.  I fully appreciate each and every one.

Soothing Seashore

Exploring the vibrant seashore.  Breathing in that invigorating ocean air.  Smiling at the puffins as they fly overhead.   Enchanted by the colourful sea stars and recalling that connection to a previous meditation.  Absorbing the soothing energy of the rolling waves.  Hand in hand, we amble barefoot along the beach, laughing as we create the sounds of barking sands.  Later, resting in adirondack chairs side by side, watching the world go by.  Every cell in my body feeling deeply relaxed.  So fortunate to be able to pass the time this way.  Being in the moment, together.

Magnificent Life

How fortunate I am.  A magnificent life filled with opportunities that challenge me to learn.  Cherished family and friends.  Access to an abundance of resources.  Time for refection.  Connection to spirit.  Good health.  Would not trade places with anyone!
